FO: Market Bags

100_1974

I finally finished the last of the three market bags! The first and second bags have already been proving their mettle at the grocery store and co-op. I love them, but I find that they seem to scare the baggers at our small-town grocery store. I'm not sure if it is that they are shaped differently than the cheap-o Roundy's bags or that they don't want to hurt the handmades (as if...these things are VERY sturdy! They will be around long after the Roundy's ones fall apart). They hold a ton of stuff...practically more than I can lift without complaint. The set of three bags took slightly more than two skeins of each color, so I have almost enough left for another set of three (I got four skeins of each to start). However, for the sake of variety, I might do some different bags or change up the stripes or lace panel. We'll see. I think I have had enough bag knitting for now...

Whoa!...those three bags are just too beautiful and colorful lying there together like that. I'm sure the baggers think they are in the presence of works of art, as indeed, they are!

Oh, I think they're gorgeous! and talk about a pretty Spring photo op! Toss in a bunny (or chick) and you're there :^)

(I used canvas bags for years and years, if I had a nickel for every time the checkout person looked at them, blank stare, then trying to find the price tag... snort)

I love them. They're so colorful and fun as well as practical.

I thought of you at the supermarket the other day. I had several of the so-called green bags (many of which are showing serious signs of wear) and a cloth bag that I made. They only filled my cloth bag as a last resort, when the other bags were filled.

Have you ever thought of setting up some type of online ordering system? Just wonderin'.

OK, Kitty Mommy - you know my (shocking lack of) knitting skill - do you think I could manage that bag pattern? I've sat (virtually) open-mouthed and watched you work on one (ok, maybe my mouth was open because I was talking, as usual) but those are absolutely star-struck-stunning. I have a whole raft of cheap-o grocery store recycled bags, but they lack aesthetics. Big time.

Gorgeous! Especially all together like that! I think you should just carry them around together all the time whether you have stuff to tote or not! Great color coordinated fashion statement!
